Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the annual “International Day of Non-Violence” celebration was organised Live, Online and it was viewed by almost 1200+ guests worldwide.
Eminent speakers, such as Mr. Ram L. Lakhina (Chairman Stichting Standbeeld Mahatma Gandhi), H.E. Mr. F.Grapperhaus (Minister of Justice and Security), Mr. Venu Rajamony (Ambassador of India to The Netherlands), H.E. Mr. Jan van Zanen (Mayor of The Hague), H.E. M. Riaz Hamidullah (Ambassador of Bangladesh to The Netherlands), H.E. Mohammad Asif Rahimi (Ambassador of The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to The Netherlands), H.E. Bert van Alphen (Alderman Social Affairs and Employment The Hague, of The Municipality The Hague) and Mrs. Liduine Bremer (Director, Faculty of Public Management, Law & Safety of The Hague University of Applied Sciences) spoke on the relevance of Non-Violence and Gandhiji’s teachings in today’s times.
All speakers emphasized in their own words as to ‘How and Why Non-Violence is Even More Essential in Current Times?’ Both the participants and the audience felt it was important to spread this message for Peace, Unity and Change to happen, globally, in a positive manner.

About Stichting Standbeeld Mahatma Gandhi
The objective of the Stichting Standbeeld Mahatma Gandhi (hereafter: Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Foundation) is to create greater awareness in the Netherlands about the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Foundation has created a Gandhi Monument in the Centre of Amsterdam. This statue was unveiled on the 2nd of October 1990 by the then Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Prof. Ruud Lubbers.
